As someone who has known Abhi Poosarla for years, nobody deserves to be featured more than one of Enloe’s brightest and most caring students. Throughout his high school career, he has been immensely involved within his community, both inside and outside of school. Specifically, he shows his dedication, time and time again, through his involvement in a wide range of extracurricular activities.

At Enloe, he is the Speech Captain for the Speech and Debate club, Head Delegate for Enloe Model United Nations (MUN), and is actively engaged with Symphony Orchestra, MBSA, and HOSA. Within MUN, he has won 5 awards at a variety of collegiate-level conferences! Outside of school, he volunteers with Gurukulam, a religious school at the Sri Venkateswara Temple, and is a part of the Cary Teen Council.

Additionally, Abhi has been a member of RoboEagles, the robotics team here at Enloe, since his freshman year. He is the Drive Team Technician and is also involved in the business, electrical, and mechanical areas of the team. He considers robotics a huge passion of his, and values the community that it provides: “I found robotics to be one of the best communities […] they have many ideals such as cooperation and professionalism that fosters team building.”

His chill and upbeat personality can be best observed through his hobbies – specifically, his daily yoga and walks, which he says helps to “clear [his] mind and sets [him] up with a great mindset for the rest of the day.” Abhi’s calm persona is also displayed through his excellent public speaking skills; attending a Speech and Debate meeting or even having a quick conversation with him will make you realize how well-spoken he is!

Whether it be spending time helping his friends out when they need his support or celebrating their achievements, he demonstrates his care for them through the commitment he shows. You can see this in action within his role as Head Delegate for Enloe MUN. Whenever MUN members win awards or he sees a member have success within their committee, Abhi is always the first to congratulate them.

Abhi plans to study engineering in college. Wherever his future may take him, it is certain that we will see great things from such a persevering student and generous individual. Best of luck!
