Decision Day
It’s Decision Day, not even Spring
The outcome of our future yet to be seen
We check the letter, the portal, the email
Hoping they tell a congratulatory tale
This time last year we were working hard
Our sanity forever cracked and scarred
It took us years just to build this resume
And now it all comes down to Decision Day
Some chose a path shrouded in ivy
Others preferred to stay quite near
Either way, if the response is an apology
Feeling our failure, we’re quick to tears
With just a click, our fate is seen
And from the first three words, we can glean
We’ll read it just two or three thousand times
The reason for rejection we struggle to find
We lost our dream, it slipped away
It’s been a fateful decision day
