Senior Spotlight: Malinn Welch
Malinn Welch is the fittest, most stylish student at Enloe High School. She never repeats an outfit. Ever. Even if you don’t know her by name, you recognize her iconic pieces. From her dachshund cable knit sweater, usually worn off the shoulder, to her expansive maxi skirt collection. Malinn throws fits left and right, and not the emotional kind. She always compliments them with a ribbon tied in her hair, or just her glorious curls themselves.
In addition to her iconic fashion sense, Malinn has more depth than what meets the eye. As a part of the International Baccalaureate program, Malinn is the definition of an Eagle scholar. With the strenuous course load, Malinn makes time to participate in extracurriculars, including the occasional sports game. Not to watch of course, but to socialize and show off her stunning outfits. In the classroom, Malinn woos her fellow IB scholars with her humor, helping them cope with the curriculum.
When adventuring with Malinn, you’re in for a surprise. When getting into her car, you’ll first see the floor covered in mats of fake grass. Regardless of where you go, Malinn provides a scenic route at your feet. In her trunk, you’ll find her hidden treasure, bags upon bags of thrifted clothes to auction off for her friends and fellow scholars! Malinn has a nasty habit of buying everything cute she sees thrifting, regardless if it’s Malinn-core or not. She lets her friends sift through her piles of thrifted clothes, allowing them to take whatever they want. And trust, you’ll always find something good. On top of being a thrifting god, Malinn is a craftsman. Taking her power tools (a needle and thread), she has crafted her own Charity Ball dress and other iconic Malinn staples.
So next time you see a very well-dressed girl with phenomenal curls, you should talk to her. If you don’t, you’re missing out on a fantastic conversation and some good fashion tips you probably need. Let’s be honest, no one has as good of a fashion sense as Malinn. Maybe a conversation with Malinn is all you need to become one of her best buds. She could even give you an avocado from her very own avocado tree.
Malinn will be attending the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. She plans to major in English and Creative Writing with a concentration in Journalism.
To Malinn-
