Do any of the noises above interest you? Enloe’s A Cappella group, Crescenloe, is holding their annual concert in the Enloe Auditorium on May 23 at 6:30 p.m.
The Crescenloe concert originated in 2023 as “an opportunity for people to do their own thing, even if it isn’t A Cappella. Everyone gets a chance to showcase their musical abilities,” explained Claire Michnowicz, an Enloe junior and 2024-26 Music Director.
The student-run group recently participated in the 2025 International Competition of High School A Cappella (ICHSA) Semi-Finals in Durham, NC, achieving the Outstanding Arrangement award for their entire set. Music will fill the auditorium as the group showcases various small group performances, student-arranged pieces, and their award-winning ICHSA set.
While most of the year is spent preparing for ICHSA, the group has performed at many events around the triangle including the 2024 WCPSS Teacher of the Year Banquet, the 2024 Wake County Principal of the Year Banquet, and the Superintendent 100 Day Address, The Rialto, and opening for Foreigner in 2023.
Kennedy Pope, an Enloe junior and 2025-26 Music Director arranged her own rendition of “Accidentally in Love” by the Counting Crows for the concert. “[Arranging the piece] was definitely a learning experience. I went back into songs that the older exec. arranged to see how I could infuse that into my own and find my own style of arranging. It was scary, especially hearing it for the first time when we were performing it, but it’s amazing to hear it come together. I’m glad the group is having fun with it,” said Pope.
Support Crescenloe by donating to their fund and follow them on Instagram to stay updated on their musical excursions and to see information about auditions for next year. “Even if you have a little bit of interest in it and you feel inspired by the concert, you might as well go for it! There’s no harm in auditioning,” Michnowicz emphasized.
Make sure not to miss the Crescenloe concert this Friday May 23! “[Crescenloe has] such a close relationship with each other and you can really see and hear that when we perform,” said Michnowicz, “it is so fun and a great opportunity to see all of the hard work that we have put in this year!”
