To know Eleanor is to want her last name. I mean, seriously, CALIENDO? Could there be a cooler last name? Italian and an emoji and iMessages sticker enthusiast, Eleanor Caliendo is the kindest, sweetest, most hilarious friend in the world. She’s the best person to discuss movies, shows, or literally anything with. Especially “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.” She will never fail to make you laugh, whether it’s with a witty and silly joke or purely her infectious laugh. “Her laugh is contagious… every time she laughs, I just burst out laughing,” says her friend Leah Yeuh. Everything becomes funnier, and everyone’s dopamine and serotonin levels instantly rise when Eleanor is around.
You will often find Eleanor walking her dog named Cole, drawing, scrolling through Pinterest, sending her friends funny videos, or playing a variety of video games. If you’ve ever been killed by a robotic yellow duck Fortnite skin named Megg, you were likely just killed by Eleanor Caliendo. You will also find Eleanor scaring kids on Roblox Speed Draw—where many of her best illustrations have been made—or playing Grand Theft Auto, driving 120 mph down the road.
Eleanor is a very talented artist and leaves everyone within the Academy of Creative Design and Enloe’s Art Department speechless.“She’s a fantastic artist and she works really hard at her crafts…she spends a lot of time making it just right…She has a very [graphic] designer mind to her artwork. Her line work is really beautiful, and she has a great handling of color,” says Ms. Mann, an Enloe art teacher.
Beyond that, she is the kind of person you learn from, and Eleanor makes every classroom warmer: “She is just so sweet and great to be around…she’s an asset to the class,” Ms. Mann attests. Eleanor’s pure creativity and artistic skill are applied throughout her life from her articles written for The Eagle’s Eye to her indie Spotify playlists featuring artists like Faye Webster, Addriene Lenker, Blood Orange, Clairo, and Kali Uchis.
The care Eleanor puts into her friendships should never go unnoticed. “…she’s an amazing friend and such a light to be around,” says Peyton Smith. She is the kind of person who puts extra effort and love into birthday cards, creating intricate and heartwarmingly crafted illustrations for each of her friends. “…she’s just the most caring, welcoming person in the entire world, she loves everyone, she’s the perfect person,” says Dane Ellsworth, “I love her laugh, she recognizes and remembers little things, and she’s always looking out for everyone…she’s genuinely such an amazing person and I’m so glad I met her,”.
After graduation, Eleanor is attending NC State University to major in Graphic Design! It has been an honor to have you in The Eagle’s Eye, and we could not be more proud of you. We wish you the best, Eleanor Caliendo!

Have fun, work your tail off because it will pay off, make all those connections with your classmates and professors and get to know them so they can get to know you because it’s all those connections later on down the road…that come back to you…just soak it all in and enjoy what it has to offer you because there’s so much to learn and explore, especially when you’re majoring in art.

Every time I see you smile, it makes me grin uncontrollably. You are the kind of person you only meet once in a lifetime. This class will feel incomplete without your contagious laugh filling the classroom with joy (and your awesome last name). I am so unbelievably excited for your future, and I am so proud of the accomplishments you’ve made, and I feel so lucky to have observed your time within ACD. I aggressively volunteered to write your senior spotlight since the beginning of the year as I wanted you to be a part of appreciating and loving you through showcasing the beautiful, caring, talented person you are! Best of luck, Eleanor CALIENDO! Add me on Fortnite (my username is Emmuened).
