MOVNING is probably not a K-Pop group you’ve heard of, but they’ve been pushing hard to make it to the top, releasing 10 recorded projects in the last 3 years. The band has only three members, but the synth-bass-drums trio pumps out a youthful energy that’s hard to quantify. In refreshing contrast with the K-Pop norm of lightweight catchiness, the band’s lyrics burst with authenticity and broadcast a hopeful message for the young generation with lines like “We will stay alive till tomorrow … We are little fighters”. M may be MOVNING’s first E.P., but it has all the groundedness of a group that knows what they’re doing and wants to be heard.
