The Enloe Wind Ensemble has facilitated the work of Greensboro composer Nathan Daughtrey. Mr. Daughtrey will write a contemporary classical piece, and then the Wind Ensemble will perform it in the spring, but for Mr. Hunter, it’s more  than just a spectator sport. Mr. Hunter wants his class to see the gears turning inside Mr. Daughtrey’s mind. Mr. Hunter said, “Not all composers are dead—people continue to compose, and I want the students to have a behind-the-scenes look at what goes on behind the compositional process.” Wind Ensemble students will be eyestanders, not bystanders. Already, the class has had a skype call with Mr. Daughtrey, where they were introduced to him and given an overview of this project.
