Are you an underclassman looking for scholarships? Look no further. Here is a list of a few scholarships to look out for! (See respective links for more eligibility and deadline information.)

 

Enloe- Specific Scholarships

SECU Foundation Scholarships

  • SECU Foundation: “People Helping People” Scholarship
    • $10k for any of the 16 constituent campuses in UNC system
    • Must be a senior at a North Carolina public high school
    • Must be an SECU member or is eligible for membership through a parent/guardian
    • Must be a United States citizen, a resident of North Carolina, and eligible for in-state tuition
    • Must be accepted to attend one of the 16 UNC system universities as a full-time undergraduate
    • Must have demonstrated scholastic achievement with a 2.5 or higher unweighted GPA on a 4.0 scale
    • Must have demonstrated leadership, excellence of character, integrity and community involvement
    • Must file FAFSA as part of the application
    • Recipients of the scholarship will be selected by the LEA Scholarship Selection Committee provided they meet all eligibility criteria. Speak with your high school guidance counselor for more information about applying, requirements, and deadlines.
  • SECU Community College Scholarship
    • Two year scholarship program, up to $5k each year
    • Is an applicant or full-time student who is a high school graduate or has completed the General Education Development (GED) program, enrolled in an associate degree, diploma or certificate program.
    • Is a U.S. citizen and a resident of North Carolina under NCGS 116-143.1 and is eligible for in-state tuition. 
    • Demonstrates scholastic achievement and maintains a 2.5 or higher-grade point average on a 4.0 scale or attained a score of 3,000 on the GED test
    • Is not a director, employee, or family member of a director or employee of SECU or the SECU Foundation, or a family member of a member of the scholarship selection committee.

Creative Contest- Cash Prize

  • CREATE REAL IMPACT CONTEST
    • Win up to $3,000 cash prize!
    • Create a piece in creative writing, video, graphic design, or music to raise awareness about reckless driving. Award is also available for best piece in the Spanish language. 
    • Deadline: Nov 3rd, 2:00 P.M. PT
    • Winners announced week of Nov 15th

NC University/College Specific

  • 2022-23 North Carolina A&T State University Dowdy Scholarship
    • Four year renewable scholarship including tuition and related fees, room and board to A&T. Scholars may also use award funds to travel abroad.
    • Application deadline: Nov 15, 2021
    • Requirements:
      • i. Minimum 3.75 cumulative GPA (weighted)
      • ii. Minimum scholastic score 1270 SAT or 27 ACT
      • iii. Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
      • iv. Admitted to North Carolina A&T State University
      • v. Must show exceptional characteristics of leadership and service
  • Morehead- Cain
    • Full ride to UNC Chapel Hill
    • School nominations deadline has passed however you may self nominate (by Oct 15th)
    • Moral Force of Character, Scholarship, Physical Vigor, Leadership
    • Deadline: October 15th, 2021
  • Robertson Scholars
    • Must apply for undergraduate admission to Duke and/or UNC-Chapel Hill the same year they apply to the Robertson Scholars
    • Deadline: Nov 15th, 2021
  • Park Scholarship
    • Full ride to NC state
    • Deadline: Must apply to NC State and Park Scholars by Nov 1, 2021

Hispanic/ Latinx Students

  • North Carolina Hispanic College Fund
    • Application opens Nov 1, 2021. Deadline to apply: January 15, 2022
    • Applicants may reapply up to 3 years, rewards range from $500- $3,000
    • Selection criteria (see website for more details):
      • Be of Hispanic/ Latinx background
      • Graduate of a NC high school within the past 2 years
      • A four-year cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale
      • 2 letters of recommendation
      • An official high school transcript
      • Personal statement (500 words)

Undocumented Students

  • The Dream
    • Scholarship for undocumented students
