Enloe’s Chamber Treble Ensemble will be combined with the Raleigh Youth Choir to sing with the NC Symphony at the Meymandi Concert Hall for holiday concerts starting Dec. 19 and ending Dec. 23.
Enloe’s Chamber Treble Ensemble is one of Enloe Chorus’ highest level choir classes consisting of alto and soprano voices. The other high level choir class is Chamber Tenor Bass Ensemble, consisting of lower vocal ranges. Both classes together comprise Enloe’s Chamber Choir who often meet after school to practice. Chamber choir along with the second highest level of lower voices are the groups that holiday carol and perform Singing Valentines around the school every year. For this upcoming holiday performance, Enloe Chamber Treble Ensemble practices in and out of class. Out of class, the choir practices with Raleigh Youth Choir at churches and other meeting spots.
In the halls of Meymandi, Enloe Chamber Treble Ensemble and the Raleigh Youth choir, which consists of Raleigh singers aged 6-18, will sing alongside the state orchestra. Together, the group will perform 10 songs including traditional hymns and modern renditions of holiday classics. Enloe Chorus has experience performing for audiences of this size at Meymandi hall with their benefit concert last year for hurricane Helene victims, but it’s their first time performing with the NC Symphony.
Enloe Chamber treble member Elika Harsh highlights how meaningful this opportunity is both for the Chamber Choir as a whole and for her as a singer individually.
“I think this is an opportunity for the Enloe chorus to show what it means to be in a choir and how you can carry that into high school… also to connect with our community and spread the Christmas joy. It’s a huge honor to sing with the Symphony and the local choir,” says Harsh.
As for herself, Harsh believes this opportunity will train her “stamina as a performer.” Harsh wants to be able to “make the most out of every single moment” she’s singing in all five shows and “be engaged” at every moment.
To see Enloe’s Chamber Treble Ensemble at Meymandi, you can buy tickets at the NC symphony’s website for shows at various times. Ticket availability may change over time, so it’s important to get them as soon as possible if you are planning to attend. Enloe’s chorus is excited to perform and they hope to see you there to spread the holiday joy!
